English wicket-keeper batter Amy Jones had an outstanding day both as a batter and a keeper, claiming the most number of catches behind the stumps in The Hundred history, during the Birmingham Phoenix’s game against the Southern Brave in the ongoing fourth edition. Following Amy Jones’ brilliance, the Phoenix side secured their second consecutive win of the season.
Initially, with the bat, Amy Jones came in when the hosts were restricted to 29 for 2. Jones didn’t receive much support from the other end as wickets kept falling at regular intervals. However, Jones took center stage, smashing 51 off 36 balls. The right-handed batter hit eight boundaries in her innings. She was the top scorer for her side, whose innings also helped Birmingham to put up a total of 137.
