Birmingham Phoenix led by skipper Ellyse Perry was all set to face the Southern Brave led by skipper Georgia Adams at Edgbaston, Birmingham in the 13th match of the season.
Southern Brave skipper Georgia Adams won the toss and opted to field first. After being inserted to bat first, the Birmingham Phoenix openers Sterre Kalis and Sophie Devine got their side off to a steady start with a 20-run opening stand. Tilly Corteen-Coleman picked up the wicket of Sophie Devine to provide the first breakthrough for Southern Brave.
