London Spirit led by skipper Heather Knight defeated the defending champions Southern Brave led by skipper Georgia Adams by six wickets in the 2nd match of the tournament. Manchester Originals led by skipper Sophie Ecclestone was all set to face Welsh Fire led by skipper Tammy Beaumont in the 3rd match of the tournament.

Manchester Originals skipper Sophie Ecclestone won the toss and opted to bat first at the Old Trafford, Manchester. The Manchester Originals openers Laura Wolvaardt and Beth Mooney got their side off to a solid start with a 58-run opening stand. Jess Jonassen picked up the wicket of Laura Wolvaardt to provide the first breakthrough for Welsh Fire.

Manchester Originals suffered a horrible collapse as they lost their next five wickets for just 28 runs. Wicket-keeper batter Eleanor Threlkeld joined skipper Sophie Ecclestone at the crease and the duo stitched a much-needed 27-run partnership for the 7th wicket to take their side past the 100-run mark. Manchester Originals eventually ended up with a total of 113/7 in their quota of 100 deliveries.

Laura Wolvaardt (37 off 27 balls), skipper Sophie Ecclestone (27 off 15 balls), and Beth Mooney (19 off 24 balls) were the top performers with the bat for Manchester Originals. Jess Jonassen joined opening batter Sophia Dunkley at the crease and the duo took their side over the line with a 44-run 4th wicket partnership. Welsh Fire sealed the game with seven wickets in hand and four balls to spare. Sophia Dunkley (69 off 47 balls), and skipper Tammy Beaumont (31 off 29 balls) were the top performers with the bat for Welsh Fire.

Fi Morris (16-5-20-2), Sophie Ecclestone (20-7-28-1), Lauren Filer (20-15-15-0), and Kim Gath (20-10-15-0) were the top performers with the ball for Manchester Originals. The Welsh Fire opening batter Sophia Dunkley was awarded the Player of the Match for her match-winning performance (69 off 47 balls) with the bat. She stayed unbeaten throughout the run chase to take their side over the line.
