Tilly Corteen-Coleman, a rising star in English cricket, at just 16 years old has been making headlines with notable performances across various formats.
Recently selected by the Southern Brave for the 2024 season of The Hundred, she has quickly established herself as a player to watch. In the second match of the tournament against the London Spirit, Tilly not only showcased her talent but also made history as the youngest player ever to feature in The Hundred, a record previously held by her teammate Alice Capsey.
Born on 23 August 2007, Tilly represents Kent, SouthEast Stars, and now Southern Brave, where she plays as a slow left-arm orthodox bowler. Her journey into the spotlight began earlier this year when she made her debut for Kent in the ECB Women’s County One-Day competition, impressing with a disciplined bowling performance that returned figures of 1/19 against Middlesex.
In her maiden Charlotte Edwards Cup campaign, England’s premier Twenty20 (T20) competition, where in her 11 appearances, she claimed an impressive 16 wickets, including the best of 5/19, which ranked her third in the tournament for most wickets in 2024.
Tilly’s ability to deliver under pressure was further highlighted during the England under-19 tour to Sri Lanka, particularly in the T20 segment of the tri-series. Here, she demonstrated her match-winning capabilities with a standout performance of 3/15 against Australia.
Tilly’s swift rise has not gone unnoticed, as evidenced by her contributions to the Stars Academy, where she emerged as the second-highest wicket-taker in the Regional Academy Friendlies of 2023. Her consistent performances were duly recognized when she received the Stars Academy Value Player award that same year.
