Players to watch out:

Charli Knott

The 21-year-old all-rounder has never before featured in The Hundred, and in the lead-up to her maiden season, has been in outstanding form. Charli, from 11 T20 outings, accumulated 217 runs at a strike rate of 111.85 and secured 16 wickets at an economy rate of 6.45. Her returns from recent outings in the 50-over competition read 22, 8, and 57*, alongside bowling figures of 1/22, 3/63, and 2/19. Given her form, count on her for the goods.

Tilly Corteen-Coleman

The 16-year-old left-arm off-spinner was a standout this T20 season, taking 16 wickets from 11 outings, averaging 13.31 and maintaining an economy rate of 5.15. Tilly first played for the senior team earlier this domestic season and has quickly established herself in the team. She hasn’t featured in The Hundred to date, but it will be worth tracking her progress this season, where she’ll look to replicate her domestic success.

Meg Lanning

The 32-year-old Australian top-order batter retired from international cricket late last year with 3,405 runs from 121 T20I innings. Meg last took the field earlier this year in February-March, where from 9 T20s she amassed 331 runs at an average of 36.77 and a strike rate of 123.04. She is a very reliable batter and can be counted on to lead the scoring, while with 8 championships under her belt, she will also be at the center of the leadership within the team.

Sophie Munro

The 22-year-old pacer has played only a handful of 7 games in The Hundred, bagging 5 wickets at an economy rate of 9.03. In the recently concluded Charlotte Edwards Cup, England’s premier T20 competition, Sophie scalped 12 wickets from 7 outings, at an average of 15.75, an economy rate of 7.26, and registered the best of 4/23. She has been equally successful in the One Dayers and can be relied upon to carry that momentum into the 2024 edition of The Hundred.

Pitch:

The wicket at Southampton offers a relatively balanced playing field, as the conditions favor both batters and bowlers. The quicks, in particular, gain an advantage from the conditions, and a score in the 140s is considered to be challenging on this track.

Weather:

Despite cloudy skies, the likelihood of rain is minimal, promising an uninterrupted game in Southampton. The temperature is forecasted to hover around 19°C, with light winds and humidity at 72%.
