Players to watch out:

Hollie Armitage

The 26-year-old all-rounder finished the recently concluded Charlotte Edwards (CE) Cup with 216 runs to her name off 7 games. Hollie averaged 30.85, scored her runs at a strike rate of 129.34, and recorded the highest score of 82. Featuring in domestic cricket and the ‘A’ series against Australia this summer, Hollie has remained impressive.

Linsey Smith

The 28-year-old spinner has struck 13 wickets in 9 Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). Smith is seeded 3rd on the CE Cup wickets chart with 13 wickets to her name in 9 appearances this season. In The Hundred, Smith holds an impressive record of producing 11 wickets in 13 outings at an economy rate of 6.78.

Eve Jones

The 30-year-old all-rounder didn’t have the best of CE Cup seasons, scoring just 80 runs in 6 innings. However, she proved her mettle in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint (RHF) Trophy, scoring 307 runs in 8 innings. With 332 runs off 15 outings, Jones has a brilliant record in the competition as well.

Abtaha Maqsood

The 24-year-old Scottish leg-spinner, in 36 T20Is, has struck 40 wickets and currently holds the best bowling figures of 3/8. Abtaha had a forgettable CE Cup season; however, she impressed in the 50-over RHF Trophy games, scalping 9 wickets in 5 appearances. She will now bank on the learnings from the RHF Trophy and aim for a successful season at The Hundred.

Pitch:

A modest average score at Headingley indicates favorable conditions for scoring runs, as batters benefit from even bounce, allowing them to display their stroke play effectively. Additionally, spinners find assistance due to the dry pitch, with the potential for turn.

Weather:

With scattered showers on the radar and throughout the match duration, there is a high possibility of rain playing spoilsport and potentially resulting in a washout. The temperature is expected to be around 16°C, with light winds and humidity of 72%.
