1st innings: Barmy Army – 168/8 (20.0)

The side batting first had Laura Wolvaardt hold on to an end while Nigar Sultana (11) and Roberta Avery (4) departed cheaply. Laura then opened arms and bagged a few boundaries, but the fall of wickets continued as Keenu Gill on 3(6) departed with 44 on board in the 6th over. Laura finally had support from the other end with Shemaine Campbelle striking well, and the 45-run stand between the two came to a close with Laura departing on 49(32). Following Ruchitha Venkatesh’s dismissal for a first-ball duck, skipper Lauren Winfield-Hill joined Shemaine.

The pair shared a brief 21-run stand as Shemaine departed on 30(17), and in no time, the side lost a couple more as Lauren on 12(8) and Laura Cardoso on 0(4) walked back. A timely 47-run partnership between Rubina Chhetry and Tara Norris powered the side to close out on 168 with the pair remaining unbeaten on 32(25) and 17(12) respectively. Sapphires with the ball had Jivana Aras strike 4, while Aditiba Chudasama, Sibona Jimmy, Kary Chan, and Sana Mir bagged a wicket each.

2nd innings: Sapphires – 107/10 (15.5)

The side lost Sibona for a golden duck and Babette de Leede then was accompanied by Erin Burns. The pair shared a bried partnership that saw curtains with Burns walking back on 21(17), and a few balls later, Maryam Omar on 2(4) was dismissed. Tash Farrant and Babette then built the sides innings with a fine 46-run stand before Babette on 23(25) was dismissed, and a wicket brought another as Kary Chan was handed a 5-ball duck.
