Glenn’s unfortunate injury occurred when she landed heavily after dropping a catch during the match. Despite initially staying on the field, she later went off after attempting to bowl the next over. The seriousness of her condition became apparent, leading to her substitution by Holly Armitage at the change of innings.

The 23-year-old spinner was absent from the fourth and fifth T20I held in Wellington, and her availability for the last ODI in Hamilton on April 7 remains uncertain. Following the ECB’s Graded Return to Play Protocols, Glenn will undergo the necessary assessments and rehabilitation process before being cleared to return to action.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) issued a statement confirming Glenn’s absence from upcoming matches, stating, “She will now follow the ECB Graded Return to Play Protocols and will miss at least the fourth (27 March) and fifth (29 March) IT20 matches as well as the first two ODIs (1 April and 4 April).” Furthermore, the statement clarified that no replacement has been summoned to the squad at this juncture.

Despite Glenn’s absence, England’s squad boasts depth, allowing them to call upon leading spinner Sophie Ecclestone for the Wellington T20I. Ecclestone, who had previously been unavailable due to commitments in the Women’s Premier League, adds further quality to the English bowling arsenal.

While Glenn’s absence will undoubtedly be felt, her teammates will look to rally together and continue their campaign in New Zealand with determination and resilience. As the series progresses, England will aim to maintain their competitive edge and strive for success in her absence.
