India, topping the table with a superior run rate over their arch-rivals, Pakistan, displayed their dominance in their opening encounter against Hong Kong. Opting to bowl first, the Indian team delivered a stellar performance, restricting Hong Kong to a mere 34 runs in 14 overs. Shreyanka Patil emerged as the star of the match, claiming a remarkable 5-wicket haul, conceding just 2 runs in 3 overs. Parshavi and Mannat Kashyap also contributed significantly, bagging 2 wickets each. India swiftly chased down the target in a mere 5.2 overs, with Uma Chetry and Gongadi Trisha remaining unbeaten on 16 and 19 runs, respectively.

Pakistan posted a competitive total of 87 runs in 19.2 overs, with Shawaal Zulfiqar anchoring the innings with a resilient knock of 28 runs off 36 balls. Their bowlers then took center stage, stifling Nepal’s batting lineup and limiting them to a mere 78 runs in their allotted 20 overs. Tuba Hassan and Syeda Aroob Shah stood out with exceptional bowling figures, both claiming 2 wickets in their respective four-over spells.

Bangladesh, another force to be reckoned with, showcased their dominance against Malaysia in their first match.
