Opting to bat after winning the toss, Titans Women opened their innings with Laura Wolvaardt and Tebogo Macheke. The Lions struck early when Ayabonga Khaka made an immediate impact, drawing a mistake from Macheke, who was caught by Madison Landsman for just 3 off 8 balls with the score at 1-7 in the 3rd over. However, Laura Wolvaardt alongside Sune Luus quickly took charge, building a firm foundation through a splendid 103-run partnership for the second wicket.

Wolvaardt struck an elegant 57 off 58 balls, featuring 8 fours and 2 sixes, before Raisibe Ntozakhe caught and bowled her in the 19th over to leave Titans Women at 110/2. Joining Luus at the crease, Luyanda Nzuza proved to be the ideal foil. Together, Luus and Nzuza put together an outstanding 143-run partnership for the third wicket, systematically dismantling the opposition’s bowling attack. Nzuza anchored her end nicely, crafting a well-made 59 off 87 balls with 8 fours before being stumped by Razeena Manack off Madison Landsman’s bowling at 253/3 in the 44th over.

Luus remained unstoppable, blazing an unbeaten 167 off 131 balls, decorated with 21 boundaries and 4 maximums. Titans skipper Anneke Bosch provided a swift flourish toward the end, smashing 27 not out off 17 balls with 4 fours. Backed by 17 extras, Titans Women posted a mammoth total of 330/3 in their 50 overs at a run rate of 6.60.

Among the Lions bowlers, Ayabonga Khaka claimed 1/51 in 10 overs, Raisibe Ntozakhe took 1/50 in 7 overs, and Madison Landsman finished with 1/58 in 9 overs. Meanwhile, Relebohile Mkhize went wicketless with 0/41 in 7 overs, Sarah Nettleton recorded 0/43 in 6 overs, Kgomotso Rapoo conceded 0/47 in 4 overs, and Chloe Tryon finished with 0/39 in 7 overs.

Faced with a daunting target of 331 runs, Lions Women began their pursuit with Razeena Manack and Tazmin Brits. The duo offered initial resistance, navigating through early spells from Eliz-Mari Marx, who finished with 0/21 in 4 overs, and Masabata Klaas, who recorded 0/19 in 5 overs, to build a solid opening partnership of 62 runs. However, the introduction of Caitlin Wyngaard into the attack completely shifted the momentum.

Wyngaard struck twice in two balls in the 13th over, trapping Tazmin Brits lbw for 23 off 38 balls with 3 fours at 62/1, and then casting Landsman for a golden duck at 62/2. She kept pressing, removing Karabo Meso, who was bowled for 1 off 5 balls, at 73/3 in the 15th over. A Mgwenya then got in on the action by removing Chloe Tryon for 3 off 4 balls, caught by wicketkeeper Macheke at 76/4.

Wyngaard returned to remove top-scorer Razeena Manack lbw for 34 off 48 balls with 7 fours at 80/5, and bowled Sarah Nettleton for 1 at 83/6 to complete a phenomenal five-wicket haul of 5/19 in 5 overs. With the chase drastically off course, Luyanda Nzuza further crippled the middle order by trapping Sunette Viljoen lbw for 17 off 21 balls with 2 fours at 108/8 and getting Ayabonga Khaka caught-and-bowled for 2 at 119/9, finishing with impressive figures of 2/13 in 4 overs.

Paulinah Mashishi cleaned up the tail, catching and bowling Raisibe Ntozakhe, who scored 12 off 31 balls with 1 four, at 108/7, and removing Lions captain Kgomotso Rapoo lbw for 8 off 9 balls to seal the innings at 119 all out in 28.2 overs, finishing with 2/16 in 5.2 overs. Relebohile Mkhize remained stranded on 0 not out. Titans Women sealed a massive 211-run triumph, delivering a masterclass with both bat and ball to dominate the CSA Women Pro50 Series clash.
