The third match of the Women’s CPL, a franchise-based T20 tournament in the West Indies, will be played between Guyana Amazon Warriors and Barbados Royals on September 4 at Warner Park in Basseterre. The match will start at 12.30AM IST.

This will be the second match of the competition for both the teams. While Barbados Royals suffered a 1-run defeat at the hands of Trinbago Knight Riders in their last outing, Guyana Amazon Warriors on the other hand, could not generate a result against the same opposition in the last game as the match was called off due to rain after 22 overs of play.

Stafanie Taylor: 

The skipper of Guyana Amazon Warriors, who is a right-handed middle order batter and a right arm off spinner is an experienced campaigner. In the recently completed 6ixty competition, she was the highest run getter for her team and the second leading overall with 93 runs in four matches, including the best of 33 not out.

Cherry-Ann Fraser: 

The right arm medium pace bowler of Guyana Amazon Warriors was the pick of the bowlers in her last outing against Trinbago Knight Riders. She scalped 21/3 in four overs, including two wickets in the seventh over of the innings. She came in to bowl as the first change. She bowled quick and hit the straps right from the word go.

Chloe Tryon:

The South African all-rounder top scored with 38 runs off 26 balls for Barbados Royals in her last match against Trinbago Knight Riders. The right-handed middle order batter smashed three boundaries and as many sixes in her entertaining knock. Apart from her batting, she is more than a handy left arm spinner and an electric fielder.

Shakera Selman: 

The right arm speedster from Barbados Royals was one of the most successful bowlers in her last fixture against Trinbago Knight Riders. She struck with 16/2 in four overs. She bowled as many as 12 dot balls in her spell. She bowled exceedingly well in the middle phase of the innings and in the death overs.

Pitch

This will be the third match of the tournament at this venue. The last match was called off due to rain. A total of 22 overs were bowled, 118 runs were scored, and six wickets fell in the process. With a thick cloud cover and high chance of rain, the toss will play an important role. Captain winning the toss may look to bowl first and exploit the cloudy conditions. Fast bowlers will enjoy bowling on this surface.
