In the Women’s Twenty20 Commonwealth Games, Qualifiers Scotland women and Sri Lanka women registered wins in their respective games.
In the first match of the day, Scotland Women won by 16 runs. In the 8 over game, Scotland was put into bat first by Kenya. Scotland women scored 70 of the 8 overs losing 3 wickets in the process. Kathryn Emma Bryce and Abbi Aitken-Drummond made decent contributions for Scotland .
In reply Kenya fell short by just 16 runs. Sarah Wetoto top-scored with 24 not out of just 16 deliveries for Kenya.

In the second match of the day, Malaysia women won the toss and decided to field first.
Put in to bat first , Sri Lanka took full advantage of their 20 overs and hammered Malaysia a significant 175 runs.
Captain Chamari Atapattu who’s having a good tournament with the bat so far scored a quickfire 30 with the help of seven boundaries. 23-year-old Harshita Madavi played an impressive knock of an unbeaten 65 runs. She was well supported by the experienced Nilakshi de Silva. Nilakshi powered her way through to an unbeaten 49 runs. Together the pair stitched an 87-run partnership.
There was nothing much the Malaysian bowlers could do to stop the flow of runs.
In reply, the Malaysian innings closed at 87 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. Sri Lanka secured a comfortable win by 93 runs. Winifred Duraisingam top scored for the host with a fighting 42 not out .Harshitha Madavi was given the Player of the Match.

Sri Lanka will surely want to go all the way in this tournament and secure the elusive single spot remaining in the Commonwealth Games. With consecutive wins, they are on the right path to do so.
