Two legends from the land of Bengal – Jhulan Goswami and Sourav Ganguly featured at the coin toss to kickstart the inaugural edition of the Bengal Pro T20 League.

Each and every edition of the Women’s Premier League has played as a catalyst in revolutionizing the women’s game all over the world and particularly in India. The launch of the inaugural edition of the Bengal Women’s Pro T20 League will write a new chapter in Bengal Cricket.

A total of eight women’s teams namely, Harbour Diamonds, Murshidabad Kueens, Lux Shyam Kolkata Tigers, Sobisco Smashers, Malda, Rashmi Medinipur Wizards, Adamas Howrah Warriors, Shrachi Rarh Tigers, and Servotec Silliguri Strikers will participate in the tournament. The tournament commenced on 11th June 2024.

The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) introduced a special coin for the toss for the newly introduced franchise tournament. In the women’s version of the tournament, the heads side of the coin will consist of the face of Women’s cricket, a legend from Bengal, Jhulan Goswami. The men’s version of the tournament will consist of the face of women’s cricket, a legend from Bengal Sourav Ganguly.

Jhulan Goswami thanked the CAB for the recognition given to her by her state board.
