Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced 16 female players who are selected to be a part of women’s training camp ahead of the upcoming home series.
The camp which aims to prepare the players for the home series against Bangladesh will take place from 13th to 23rd October at Lahore Country Club, Muridke.
The participants for the camp have been selected by the women’s national selection committee. The committee is headed by former Pakistan captain Urooj Mumtaz. As reported by aninews.in, Mumtaz said that they have been monitoring the players in the one-day domestic tournament in Lahore. They would like to give the emerging talent opportunities in the Bangladesh series. They are aiming to prepare the team for the upcoming T20 World Cup, said Mumtaz in a press release.
Players from the Pakistan Emerging team will be available for selection once they return from Sri Lanka.
Apart from Mumtaz, the two former players in the selection committee are Asmavia Iqbal and Marina Iqbal.
Bangladesh will play 3 T20Is and 2 ODIs as part of this Pakistan tour.
