Date and Day – 11 September 2019, Wednesday.
Match 3 – Australia Women vs West Indies Women.
Time-7:00 PM IST.
Venue – North Sound (Antigua)
The Australian Women’s team take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the 3 match series. The West Indies Women’s have been no match to their opponents Australia, even while they have played without their captain and centurion of the 1st ODI. Australia while batting first scored 308 runs with Ellyse Perry being the wrecker in chief scoring 112 runs at almost run a ball. Ashleigh Gardner scored a quickfire 57 off just 25 balls thus giving final impetus to the innings. There were useful contributions from Alyssa Healy and Beth Mooney.
West Indies Women’s team has plenty of problems and nothing looks to be happening right for them. They have let the Australian team score big on both the occasions and have been iffy with the bat, inexperienced lineup and no proper strategy seem to be the biggest problem for them. The Australian team has beaten the West Indies as if they were playing against a second division team. We can just hope that when the West Indies team takes the field on Wednesday, they come out with the passion to win as they did in the T20 WorldCup in 2018.
Head to Head
In the previous 5 encounters, Australia women’s team has beaten West Indies women’s team in all the games, we could be in for yet another one-sided game if the West Indies don’t put their best foot forward.
