Manisha Upadhayay’s Four-Fer Helps Nepal Women U19 to Nine-Wicket Win Over Indonesia

Nepal Women U19 impressed in the 3rd place playoff game in the ACC Women’s U19 Premier Cup 2026 with a comfortable nine-wicket victory over Indonesia Women U19 at the Bayuemas Cricket Oval, Kuala Lumpur, on July 18, 2026. A superb bowling performance led by Manisha Upadhayay and a calm batting effort from Sana Praveen helped Nepal complete another easy win.

After winning the toss, Indonesia Women U19 chose to bat first but found it difficult to score against Nepal’s disciplined bowling attack. Nepal kept taking wickets at regular intervals and restricted Indonesia to 68/9 in their 20 overs, leaving themselves with a target of 69 runs.

Indonesia’s innings got off to the worst possible start when Meutia Diaz Sanjoyo was bowled for a duck by Manisha Upadhayay in the second over. Captain Hilva Nuraulia Siami Lukman also failed to settle and was dismissed for 4 runs. Nepal remained in complete control as Anace Elna Elizabeth managed 2 runs, while NI Kadek Dwi Aprillia Putri was dismissed without scoring.

Wicketkeeper Ni Putu Elyn Novita Dewi tried to hold the innings together with 11 runs from 35 balls, but she struggled to score quickly before being trapped leg before wicket by Tirsana Bishwokarma. Ni Komang Sukmayanthi Kari Putri was stumped for a duck as Indonesia continued to lose wickets.

The only batter who offered real resistance was Derni Rambu Bangi, who remained unbeaten on 34 from 32 balls, including four boundaries. She fought till the final over and helped Indonesia reach a respectable total. Putu Sintha Cahayani added 7 runs, while Gusti Ayu Agung Maia Arsita Wati scored 2. Stevania Enjelita Dira was dismissed without scoring, while Isabella Sirs remained unbeaten on 4 as Indonesia closed on 68/9.

Nepal’s bowlers were outstanding throughout the innings. Manisha Upadhayay produced the best spell, finishing with brilliant figures of 4 wickets for 7 runs in four overs. She removed four top-order batters and completely changed the game in Nepal’s favour.

Anu Kadayat also bowled well and claimed 2 wickets for 13 runs, while Rachana Kumari Chaudhary, Tirsana Bishwokarma and captain Sony Pakhrin picked up one wicket each. Nepal’s bowlers maintained tight lines and lengths and never allowed Indonesia to build any momentum.

Chasing 69, Nepal Women U19 made a confident start through Sana Praveen and Sabitri Dhami. The pair added 33 runs for the first wicket, putting Nepal in complete control of the chase.

Sabitri Dhami played positively and scored 24 from 23 balls, hitting four boundaries, before she was run out. Her attacking innings gave Nepal the perfect start and reduced the pressure on the middle order.

Sana Praveen continued her fine form and remained unbeaten on 25 from 39 balls, guiding the chase with a calm and mature innings. She was well supported by Karuna Bista, who remained not out on 16 from 24 balls. Together, they completed the chase as Nepal reached 69/1 in 14.2 overs, sealing a comfortable nine-wicket victory with 34 balls remaining.

Indonesia’s bowlers tried hard but could not create enough pressure. NI Kadek Dwi Aprillia Putri, Isabella Sirs, Anace Elna Elizabeth, Ni Komang Sukmayanthi Kari Putri, Derni Rambu Bangi and Stevania Enjelita Dira all bowled disciplined spells, but none of them managed to take a wicket.
