Surrey Women produced a composed run chase at Ampleforth on August 26, 2026, overcoming Yorkshire Women by two wickets with 54 balls remaining in the ECB Women’s One-Day Cup. Yorkshire Women’s innings began with Lauren Winfield-Hill and Alice Clarke attempting to build a platform. Winfield-Hill looked the more fluent of the pair, striking 48 from 41 balls with 10 fours, while Clarke contributed eight from 14 deliveries. Their opening partnership was worth 52 before Clarke was trapped lbw by Sune Luus in the seventh over, with Yorkshire at 52/1 after 6.1 overs. Amelia Oliver joined Winfield-Hill but could add only four from nine balls before she was run out by Tilly Coteen-Coleman at 63/2 in the eighth over. The key partnership of the chase followed. Kira Chathli, Surrey’s captain, joined the action and combined with Jemima Spence for 17 runs before Spence was dismissed for 12 from 17 balls, caught by Winfield-Hill off Hannah Rainey at 123/5 after 30.1 overs. That situation could have created plenty of pressure, but Chathli refused to panic.
