Since its delayed launch in 2021, The Hundred’s women’s competition has produced memorable finals, standout individual performances and shifting franchise landscapes.
As the tournament returns for its sixth edition from 21 July to 16 August 2026, now with MI London (formerly Oval Invincibles), Sunrisers Leeds (formerly Northern Superchargers) and Manchester Super Giants (formerly Manchester Originals) among rebranded sides after partial IPL ownership changes, the tournament’s history reads like a roll call of dominant team efforts and game-changing players. Below are the winners of each edition and the sides that have the potential to lift the trophy this season.
List of Winners of the Women’s Hundred (2021 – 2025)
Oval Invincibles [Now Rebranded as MI London] (2021 Winner):
The inaugural edition, postponed from 2020 to 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, crowned the Oval Invincibles champions on 21 August 2021 at Lord’s. Under Dane van Niekerk’s captaincy, they defeated Southern Brave, led by Anya Shrubsole, by 48 runs. The Invincibles had finished second in the table with 9 points from 8 games (four wins, three defeats and one washout) and edged Birmingham Phoenix in the Eliminator by 20 runs to reach the final.
Dane Van Niekerk herself was the leading run-scorer for both her side and the tournament with 259 runs at a strike rate of 105.71 and an average of 43.16 in nine innings, while Tash Farrant led the bowling charts, 18 wickets at an average of 10.27 and an economy of 6.20 in nine innings, including a four-wicket haul.
Oval Invincibles [Now Rebranded as MI London] (2022 Winner):
The following year the Invincibles successfully defended their crown, again at Lord’s, defeating Southern Brave by five wickets on 3 September 2022. Captained by Suzie Bates, Oval topped the league with 10 points from six games (five wins and one defeat), securing a direct spot in the final. Bates finished as her side’s leading run-scorer and the tournament’s second-highest scorer with 232 runs at a strike rate of 146.83 and an average of 38.66 in seven innings. Eva Gray spearheaded the Invincibles’ attack with eight wickets at an average of 12.62 and an economy of 5.94 in seven matches.
Southern Brave (2023 Winner):
After two near-misses, Southern Brave finally claimed their maiden title on 27 August 2023 under Anya Shrubsole, beating Hollie Armitage’s Northern Superchargers by 34 runs at Lord’s. Brave dominated the group stage, finishing top with 14 points from eight games (seven wins and one defeat), which put them straight into the final. Danielle Wyatt-Hodge topped the run charts for the tournament with 295 runs at a strike rate of 141.14 and an average of 32.77 in nine innings, and Georgia Adams led the bowling with 16 wickets at an average of 12.81 and an economy of 6.83, including a four-wicket haul.
London Spirit (2024 Winner):
In the fourth edition, London Spirit, captained by Heather Knight, captured their first Hundred title on 18 August 2024, overcoming Tammy Beaumont’s Welsh Fire by four wickets in the final at Lord’s. Spirit had finished third in the league with nine points from eight games (four wins, three defeats and a tie) and advanced through the Eliminator, crushing the Oval Invincibles by eight wickets to reach the final. Knight was central to their success, ending as London Spirit’s leading run-scorer and the tournament’s second highest with 271 runs at a strike rate of 137.56 and an average of 45.16 in ten innings. Leg-spinner Sarah Glenn provided incisive bowling, finishing with 13 wickets at an average of 17 and an economy of 6.80.
Northern Superchargers [Now Rebranded as Sunrisers Leeds] (2025 Winner):
The fifth edition saw Hollie Armitage’s Northern Superchargers lift their first title on 31 August 2025, defeating Southern Brave by seven wickets at Lord’s. Northern ended the league in second with 24 points from eight games (six wins and two defeats). Phoebe Litchfield finished as the tournament’s leading run-scorer with 292 runs at a strike rate of 157.83 and an average of 41.71 in ten innings, while Annabel Sutherland led Northern’s bowling with 16 wickets at an average of 14.43 and an economy of 7 across ten matches.
Who’s most likely to win Women’s Hundred 2026?
With IPL-backed investment reshaping some squads, the 2026 field is tighter than ever. London Spirit, MI London and Southern Brave present the most balanced and star-studded line-ups on paper.
MI London combine power and variety with Hayley Matthews, Amelia Kerr, Chinelle Henry and Danielle Wyatt-Hodge underpinning both firepower and all-round depth. London Spirit’s core of Nadine de Klerk, Marizanne Kapp, Deandra Dottin, Charlie Dean and Mahika Gaur mixes experience, pace, spin and finishing ability. Southern Brave remain potent top to bottom with Laura Wolvaardt, Jemimah Rodrigues, Sophie Molineux, Lizelle Lee and Lauren Bell providing classical scoring, power, spin control and seam penetration.
London Spirit’s balanced XI and MI London’s firepower make them marginal favourites, with Southern Brave a very close third, all three capable of lifting the trophy depending on form and availability across the month-long competition.
