Oman Women secured a comfortable 10-wicket win over Saudi Arabia Women in Match 22 of Group B of the ACC Women’s Premier Cup 2026 at the YSD-UKM Cricket Oval in Bangi on Saturday. The big victory helped Oman earn two important points and improve their chances of reaching the semi-finals.

After winning the toss, Oman decided to bowl first, and their bowlers made an immediate impact. Saudi Arabia found it difficult to score runs and lost wickets regularly throughout their innings. As a result, they were bowled out for just 38 runs in 13.4 overs.
Saudi Arabia’s innings started in the worst possible way when captain Mashael Waqas was dismissed on the first ball of the match. Abeer Maryam scored only one run, while Najwa Akram was the highest scorer with 8 runs. Sara hit a boundary during her short stay but could only make 4 runs. Laiba added 5 runs, while Nimra Ghazanfar scored 3. Maheen Aamir contributed 4 runs, but no batter was able to stay at the crease for long or build a partnership.
Oman captain Priyanka Mendonca led the bowling attack brilliantly. She claimed 5 wickets for just 8 runs in her four-over spell and was the main reason behind Saudi Arabia’s batting collapse. Her accurate bowling kept the batters under pressure and did not allow them to score freely.
Jayadhanyha Gunasekar also bowled very well and finished with figures of 2 for 6 from four overs, including a maiden over. Fiza Javed picked up 2 wickets for only 2 runs, while Alifiya Sayed took one wicket. Together, the Oman bowlers produced a disciplined performance and kept complete control of the match.
Chasing a small target of 39 runs, Oman made sure there were no problems in the run chase. Openers Jayadhanyha Gunasekar and Nitya Joshi batted confidently and guided their team home without losing a wicket.
Gunasekar played an attacking innings of 31 not out from just 14 balls. She struck two fours and two sixes and scored at a strike rate of 221.42. Her aggressive batting helped Oman finish the chase quickly. Nitya Joshi remained unbeaten on 6 from 7 balls as Oman reached 39/0 in only 3.2 overs, winning the match with 100 balls remaining.
For her outstanding bowling performance, Priyanka Mendonca was named Player of the Match. Her five-wicket haul was the biggest highlight of the game and helped Oman take control right from the start.
The win moved Oman to second place in the Group B standings with four points from three matches. Their net run rate also improved after such a big victory. Saudi Arabia, meanwhile, remain without a win after three matches and stay at the bottom of the table.
Oman will now look to continue this good form in their upcoming matches, while Saudi Arabia will hope to learn from this defeat and put in a better performance in their remaining group-stage games.
