Warwickshire Women began their innings positively after being put into bat, with openers Meg Austin and Abigail Freeborn laying a solid platform. The pair added 95 runs for the opening wicket, frustrating The Blaze bowlers with a combination of controlled stroke play and smart running between the wickets. Austin played an aggressive hand, striking 44 from 31 deliveries, including six boundaries and a six, while Freeborn anchored the innings brilliantly with 56 off 45 balls, hitting six fours. Their partnership ensured Warwickshire were well placed at 95/1 in the 11th over.

The breakthrough came when Amu Surenkumar dismissed Georgia Redmayne for 2, and from there The Blaze gradually clawed their way back into the contest. Warwickshire slipped from 95/1 to 100/3, losing Redmayne and Charis Pavely (1) in quick succession. Despite the mini-collapse, Amu Surenkumar counterattacked with a lively 27 off just 15 balls, including four boundaries, helping rebuild alongside Natasha Wraith. Their partnership pushed the score to 135/4 before Freeborn departed after her impressive half-century.

The middle and lower order struggled to capitalize fully in the death overs as The Blaze bowlers tightened their grip. Natasha Wraith managed 5, Mary Taylor contributed 13, while Alexa Stonehouse was dismissed without scoring. Millie Taylor remained unbeaten on 4 as Warwickshire closed on 158/8 in 20 overs. The late collapse saw them lose four wickets for just 23 runs.

The Blaze’s bowling effort was led superbly by Grace Ballinger, who claimed 3/24 from her four overs, removing key batters and preventing Warwickshire from posting a bigger total. Lucy Higham chipped in with 2/16 from 3 overs, while Charley Phillips (1/28), Charli Knott (1/32), and Georgia Elwiss (1/16) each picked up important wickets. Although Josie Groves went wicketless, her four overs helped maintain pressure during crucial phases.

Chasing 159 for victory, The Blaze suffered an early setback when Tammy Beaumont fell for 15 with the score on 32/1. However, captain Marie Kelly immediately took control of the innings. Alongside Charli Knott, she added a valuable 63-run partnership for the second wicket, shifting the momentum towards the visitors. Knott played fluently for 27 from 22 balls, striking five boundaries before becoming the second wicket at 95/2.

Kelly continued to anchor the chase magnificently and found support from Georgia Elwiss. The pair added 27 runs for the third wicket, taking The Blaze to 122/4 before Ella Claridge departed for 13. Shortly afterward, Kelly completed an outstanding innings of 45 from 32 deliveries, featuring six fours and a six, but her dismissal at 98/4 and later wicket at 122/4 gave Warwickshire renewed hope.

The match entered a tense phase when Georgia Elwiss scored 20 before departing at 156/5, while Georgie Boyce fell immediately for a duck at 156/6. With the game hanging in the balance, Emma Jones produced a calm and composed finish. Remaining unbeaten on 27 from 16 balls at a strike rate of 168.75, Jones struck four boundaries and ensured there were no further hiccups. Alongside Lucy Higham, who remained not out on 2, she guided The Blaze to 159/6 in 19.2 overs, sealing victory by four wickets.
