Isabella Gaze is one of the exciting young cricketers in New Zealand women’s cricket. She was born in Haarlem, Netherlands, and later moved to New Zealand with her family. She learned her cricket through Auckland’s domestic system and quickly became known for her wicketkeeping and attacking batting.

Before focusing fully on cricket, Isabella also played hockey during her school days. Her cricket journey moved ahead quickly after she received a junior contract with Auckland after only one season. From there, she kept improving and became one of the top young wicketkeepers in the country.

Isabella first came into the spotlight during the Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup. The tournament gave her a chance to play against strong teams and learn more about international cricket. Even before becoming a regular player in domestic cricket, she was already training with New Zealand’s senior team because of her talent and hard work.

She made her WT20I debut for New Zealand during the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham when she was just 18 years old. Later that year, she also played her first ODI against the West Indies. Since then, she has become a regular part of the New Zealand squad and was also a member of the team that won the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in 2024.
