Kim Garth was born in Dublin to parents who both played for Ireland, Garth was introduced to cricket early and quickly emerged as one of Ireland’s brightest young talents. She made her international debut at just 14 years old in 2010, an extraordinary achievement that highlighted her potential as a future star. Over the following years, she became a key player for Ireland, featuring in three ICC Women’s World Cups and developing into a dependable pace-bowling all-rounder.

Her domestic and franchise experiences eventually reshaped the course of her career. Garth first entered Australian domestic cricket through the Women’s Big Bash League with Sydney Sixers before later representing Perth Scorchers and Melbourne Stars. Looking for full-time professional opportunities, she moved to Australia in 2020 and joined Victoria’s domestic setup, a decision that elevated her development in a stronger cricketing environment. Becoming an Australian permanent resident in 2022 opened the door to a second international chapter and marked a major turning point in her career.

Kim Garth International Career

Garth’s Australia debut arrived during the T20I series against India in December 2022 after becoming eligible for national selection. Her experience from more than a decade with Ireland helped ease the transition into one of the strongest teams in world cricket, while her ability to bowl in different phases and contribute lower down the order added depth to Australia’s squad. She later expanded her Australian international career further by earning ODI and Test opportunities, becoming the only woman to play international cricket for both Ireland and Australia.
