Pakistan enters the World Cup following a successful tour of Zimbabwe, where the team produced dominant displays in both ODI and T20I cricket. The batting unit showed far greater consistency than in previous campaigns, while the bowling attack once again delivered with discipline and control.

The standout moment of the tour came from captain Fatima Sana, who created history during the T20I series by smashing the fastest half-century in women’s T20 international cricket. Fatima raced to fifty in just 15 balls, breaking the previous world record and underlining her growing reputation as one of the most dangerous all-rounders in the women’s game. Her remarkable innings transformed the momentum of the match and highlighted the aggressive approach Pakistan are hoping to bring into the World Cup. The 24-year-old has steadily developed into the face of Pakistan women’s cricket, contributing consistently with both bat and ball while also handling leadership responsibilities.

Pakistan’s batting lineup will also be boosted by opener Gull Feroza, who enjoyed a breakthrough series against Zimbabwe in the ODI format. Gull struck two centuries during the series and emerged as one of the team’s most reliable top-order batters heading into the World Cup. Experienced wicketkeeper-batter Muneeba Ali and senior batter Ayesha Zafar are expected to provide stability at the top of the order alongside Gull.

The middle order includes experienced names such as Aliya Riaz and Iram Javed along with newcomers Natalia Parvaiz and Saira Jabeen. Aliya remains one of Pakistan’s most dependable allrounders and is expected to play a key role in balancing the side.

While the batting unit has shown encouraging improvement, Pakistan’s greatest strength continues to be their bowling attack. The spin department, in particular, remains one of the most experienced and dangerous among the associate and Full Member nations outside the traditional powerhouses. Left-arm spinner Nashra Sandhu once again headlines the attack after consistent performances in ICC tournaments over recent years. She will be supported by Sadia Iqbal, leg-spinner Tuba Hassan and allrounder Rameen Shamim.

Sadia has become increasingly effective with the new ball in T20 cricket, while Tuba’s wicket-taking ability through the middle overs gives Pakistan another attacking option. The pace attack will be led by Fatima Sana and Diana Baig, with young pacer Tasmia Rubab adding fresh energy to the squad.

Pakistan have featured in every edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup but are still searching for a breakthrough campaign on the global stage. The team will hope its improved batting depth, experienced bowling unit and growing confidence can finally help change that record. Before the World Cup begins, Pakistan will compete in a tri-series involving Ireland and West Indies starting on May 28 as part of their final preparations.
