Myanmar Women U19 produced a composed all-round performance to register an impressive 11-run victory over Oman Women U19 in the ACC Women’s U19 Premier Cup 2026 at the YSD UKM Oval, Bangi. After opting to bat first, Myanmar laid a strong platform through an excellent opening partnership before their bowlers held their nerve despite a spirited unbeaten stand from Oman’s middle order. The contest remained alive until the closing overs, but Myanmar’s disciplined bowling and the cushion created by their top-order batters ultimately proved decisive in this exciting ACC Women’s U19 Premier Cup encounter.

The innings began in ideal fashion for Myanmar Women U19 as openers Aye Myat Noe and Htet Htet Swe displayed remarkable patience and composure. The pair steadily rotated the strike while punishing loose deliveries to build a magnificent 103-run opening partnership off 86 balls, putting Oman under sustained pressure. Htet Htet Swe played fluently for 47 off 43 balls, striking five boundaries, before Sahana Jeelany provided Oman with the much-needed breakthrough in the 14th over. Immediately after that dismissal, Oman tightened the screws as Naw Bway Law Saw was run out for a first-ball duck, leaving Myanmar at 105/2 after two wickets had fallen in quick succession.

Rather than allowing the momentum to slip away, captain Aye Myat Noe continued to anchor the innings brilliantly. She compiled a patient 54 from 61 deliveries, including four boundaries, ensuring Myanmar remained on course for a competitive total. She found valuable support from Khin Hnin Htwe, who played a brisk unbeaten knock of 30 off just 20 balls, striking two fours to accelerate during the death overs. The pair stitched together a crucial 38-run partnership from 34 deliveries before Aye Myat Noe was run out in the penultimate over with the score on 143/3. Wathon Nadi remained unbeaten without scoring as Myanmar finished strongly on 151/3 in 20 overs at a healthy run rate of 7.55. The batting effort was further boosted by 20 extras, including 12 wides, which proved valuable in the final equation.

Oman’s bowling attack worked hard despite the challenging conditions. Sahana Jeelany emerged as the lone wicket-taking bowler, delivering an economical spell of 1/23 from four overs while also maintaining pressure during the middle phase. Pia Sharma matched those figures in terms of economy with 4-0-23-0, consistently bowling disciplined lines. Blessy Jeeba conceded 27 runs in four overs, while Nitya Joshi finished with 3-0-25-0. Kushi returned figures of 2-0-14-0, Lujaina bowled 2-0-15-0, and Areeba Mughal had an expensive outing, giving away 21 runs from her lone over as Myanmar capitalised during the closing stages.

Chasing 152, Oman Women U19 required a positive start but suffered an early setback when Eshal Siddiqui departed for 11 off 12 balls, trapped by Aye Myat Noe, leaving the score at 27/1. Before that dismissal, Eshal and Lujaina had shared a promising 27-run opening partnership from 22 deliveries. Lujaina continued attacking and added 29 runs for the second wicket with Pia Sharma, taking Oman to 56 before she was dismissed by Htet Htet Swe for an entertaining 31 off 26 balls, featuring five boundaries. At that stage, Myanmar had wrestled back control of the contest by reducing Oman to 56/2 in 7.6 overs.

However, Oman refused to surrender. Pia Sharma and skipper Nitya Joshi launched a determined counterattack, combining maturity with sensible stroke play. Their outstanding unbroken 84-run partnership from 72 balls revived the chase and kept Myanmar under pressure until the final over. Pia anchored the innings superbly with an unbeaten 50 from 55 deliveries, hitting three boundaries, while Nitya Joshi remained not out on 31 off 27 balls, also striking three fours. Despite their resilience, the asking rate kept climbing, and Oman eventually finished on 140/2 in 20 overs, falling just 11 runs short.

Myanmar’s bowlers complemented the batting effort with disciplined spells throughout the innings. Captain Aye Myat Noe starred with the ball as well, claiming 1/25 in four overs, including the key wicket of Eshal Siddiqui. Htet Htet Swe also picked up 1/29 in four overs, dismissing the dangerous Lujaina at a crucial stage. Myat Hsu Mon was particularly economical with 4-0-19-0, applying consistent pressure through the middle overs. Wathon Nadi delivered 4-0-26-0, while Phoo Phoo Moe contributed 2-0-23-0, and Naw Bway Law Saw finished with 2-0-16-0, helping restrict the scoring during the closing overs.

The victory highlighted Myanmar Women U19’s balanced team performance, with both captain Aye Myat Noe and Htet Htet Swe making significant contributions with bat and ball. Their commanding opening stand laid the perfect foundation, while disciplined bowling ensured Oman Women U19’s impressive late partnership could not complete the chase. For Oman, the unbeaten efforts of Pia Sharma and Nitya Joshi showcased tremendous fighting spirit, but Myanmar’s earlier dominance ultimately proved enough to secure a memorable 11-run win in the ACC Women’s U19 Premier Cup 2026.
