Lancashire Women began their innings cautiously after losing Eve Jones early in the eighth over. Jones managed 19 runs from 27 deliveries, striking two boundaries before Georgia Davis and Mary Taylor combined to remove the opener. The early wicket left Lancashire at 36/1, and shortly after, Seren Smale departed for 14 from 22 balls, trapped lbw by Phoebe Brett at 37/2. Warwickshire Women’s disciplined bowling attack ensured the batters never fully settled during the powerplay phase.

Captain Eleanor Threlkeld attempted to stabilise the innings with a patient knock of 39 from 51 deliveries, including five boundaries. Alongside Madeline Penna, who scored a steady 38 off 51 balls, Lancashire rebuilt carefully through a valuable 83-run partnership for the third wicket. Their stand helped shift momentum briefly as they rotated strike efficiently and punished loose deliveries. However, Georgia Davis struck again by dismissing Penna at 120/3 in the 23.6th over, breaking the most important stand of the innings.

Threlkeld continued to anchor the innings and found support from Fi Morris, who contributed 21 runs from 29 deliveries. The pair added another useful partnership before Hannah Baker and Mary Taylor tightened the screws during the middle overs. Lancashire then suffered a cluster of wickets at a crucial stage. Threlkeld fell for 39 at 127/4, while Fi Morris departed after adding valuable lower-middle-order runs as the score became 163/5.

Ailsa Lister injected momentum into the innings with an aggressive 27 from just 24 deliveries at a strike rate above 112. Her quick scoring ensured Lancashire pushed towards a competitive total. Kate Cross also played an entertaining cameo of 34 from 33 balls, smashing three boundaries and keeping the scoreboard moving in the death overs. Their partnership added important late runs before Cross fell at 220/9. Lancashire eventually closed on 226/9 from their 42 overs, boosted significantly by 23 extras.

Warwickshire Women’s bowling unit shared the workload effectively. Mary Taylor was the standout performer with figures of 3/47 from nine overs, picking up key middle-order wickets. Georgia Davis claimed 2/38 and removed both Penna and Jones at important moments. Phoebe Brett bowled brilliantly, returning economical figures of 2/35 while also maintaining pressure throughout her spell. Hannah Baker and Charis Pavely chipped in with one wicket apiece, ensuring Lancashire never accelerated fully during the final overs.

Chasing 227, Warwickshire Women endured an early setback when Amu Surenkumar was dismissed for 4 by Kate Cross with the score on 19. Georgia Redmayne and Meg Austin then rebuilt cautiously, adding 26 runs for the second wicket. Redmayne struck two boundaries in her 28 from 37 balls before becoming Cross’ second victim at 45/2.

Meg Austin continued steadily but Lancashire’s bowlers kept striking at regular intervals. Austin scored 22 from 41 deliveries before Eve Jones took a fine catch off Kate Cross, reducing Warwickshire to 94/3. The momentum of the chase shifted dramatically through an outstanding partnership between Charis Pavely and Abigail Freeborn. Pavely played one of the finest innings of the tournament, scoring a fluent 63 from just 58 deliveries, including eight fours and a six. Her aggressive approach countered Lancashire’s bowling attack beautifully.

Freeborn contributed an important 19 from 28 balls as the duo stitched together a match-defining 36-run partnership. Even after Freeborn departed at 130/4 and Chloe Brewer was run out shortly after, Warwickshire remained composed thanks to Pavely’s dominance. When Pavely finally fell for 63 at 155/6, the game was still delicately balanced.

Natasha Wraith and Mary Taylor then completed the chase with maturity and confidence. Wraith remained unbeaten on 34 from 28 balls, while Taylor produced a stunning finishing cameo of 42 not out from just 27 deliveries at a strike rate above 155. Their unbeaten seventh-wicket partnership guided Warwickshire Women to 230/6 in 40.3 overs, sealing a memorable four-wicket victory.

For Lancashire Women, Tara Norris and Kate Cross were the pick of the bowlers with two wickets each. Norris returned 2/42 from eight overs, while Cross also claimed 2/42 and provided key breakthroughs during the chase. Hannah Jones bowled economically, conceding just 39 runs in nine overs, while Grace Potts delivered a controlled spell of 1/38 from 7.3 overs. Despite their efforts, Warwickshire’s middle and lower-order partnerships proved decisive.
