Australia Women to Host Bangladesh and New Zealand in 2026-27 Home Season

Cricket Australia has unveiled a blockbuster 2026-27 international calendar, packing 27 matches across 14 venues over eight thrilling months, with the Australian women’s team stealing the show in October, months after the conclusion of the most anticipated upcoming 10th edition of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup hosted by England and Wales from 12th June to 5th July 2026.

Their signature late-summer February-March window, complete with historic day-night debuts at Melbourne and Adelaide Oval’s upgraded venues.

The Aussie women, led by Sophie Molineux, kick off under the lights in a groundbreaking return to Melbourne after Junction Oval’s 2025-26 omission for lighting upgrades. All three Trans-Tasman ODIs for the Rose Bowl at Adelaide’s revamped Karen Rolton Oval will also glow under new floodlights, delivering non-stop drama against New Zealand. In a summer of firsts, Australia hosts Bangladesh for their inaugural bilateral series on home soil: three ODIs as day-nighters in Brisbane, followed by three T20Is under lights at North Sydney Oval.

Notably, Molineux’s squad skips Western Australia entirely this season. While Cricket Australia pushed for a women’s Test in the Trans-Tasman series, New Zealand declined, keeping the focus on white-ball fireworks.

CA chief executive Todd Greenberg couldn’t hide his excitement: “We’re delighted to release an international schedule that ensures fans across Australia will see our brilliant national teams play over eight months at many fantastic venues across the country.” He added a nod to the Trans-Tasman rivalry: “Our rivalry with the Kiwis has always been hard fought and produced many memorable moments, and the men’s Test series and women’s white ball series will be no exception.”

Broadcasting keeps women’s fans covered, with all internationals airing on Foxtel, Seven, Kayo, and 7Plus. This summer promises unmissable action, blending tradition with innovation, especially for women’s cricket trailblazers.
