Australia’s star wicketkeeper-batter Alyssa Healy is well-known for her sharp and on-spot hilarious humor, and she was at it again when her husband, Mitchell Starc, produced a sensational five-wicket haul in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL).

While Starc’s heroics with the ball had commentators and fans hinged on admiration, it was wife Healy’s reaction that took instant rounds on social media. Her amusing caption for Starc’s figures also drew a cheeky response from the respective IPL franchise, Delhi Capitals, adding to the fun.
In match no. 10 of the IPL, pacer Mitchell Starc ran through the batting order of well-reputed Sunrisers Hyderabad and registered figures of 5/35 in 3.4 overs. As it turned out to be the first five-wicket haul for Starc in the history of the tournament, Alyssa Healy shared a light-hearted Instagram story, first giving a playful nod to her Women’s Premier League (WPL) team, UP Warriorz, before acknowledging the Capitals as well.
The Capitals, a dominant force in the WPL, have made it to the final three times and have often gotten the better of the Warriorz, making Healy’s cheeky post even more entertaining. Go UP Warriorz, Oh and I Guess Delhi Capitals. Soon, Delhi Capitals too responded to the story with the caption, “Sahi uttar, Alyssa ji”.

The inaugural games in season eighteen of the competition witnessed high-scoring affairs, and Alyssa Healy expressed her concerns for the bowlers, who have nothing but a minimal margin of error in surroundings that are highly conducive for paradise batting conditions.
In a podcast with ‘Willow Talk’, Healy said, “I just don’t know why you’d want to be a bowler in the IPL. Honestly, what is the point? Especially if you bowl fast because there’s no room for error if you slightly miss, it’s going for six.”
The 35-year-old added, “I mean, when you play a competition and there’s a sponsor for the number of sixes that are hit in the competition, you know you’re in strife as a bowler. The wickets are going to be flat, that’s what they think people want to see. I feel for the bowlers out there, it’s going to be a tough old year.”
Alyssa Healy, one of Australia’s most consistent and prolific cricketers, has been in and out of cricketing action since Australia’s last league match in the ICC T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Recovering from a foot injury, the star batter made the tough decision to opt out from the third season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL), where she was set to lead the UP Warriorz. In her absence, Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma was appointed as the team’s captain for the season.
Healy’s injury concerns didn’t just keep her out of the WPL; she also opted out of the recent T20I series between Australia and New Zealand. With the 50-over ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup set to take place in India during the latter half of the year, Healy has her sights set on a full recovery, ensuring she returns to the field at her best for the marquee event.
