Kapp has been in exceptionally good touch in recent years, especially for the national side in key ICC tournaments. They look to be all set for the next edition of the tournament, and they will be hoping to retain their title-winning form from 2024.

Kapp has been a fine performer for Oval Invincibles in The Hundred with her exceptional wicket-taking ability and her contribution with the bat. She has taken 46 wickets in the tournament, making her the fourth-highest wicket-taker in the history of The Hundred. She has played 5 seasons for Oval Invincibles and has been one of the best performers for the Invincibles, with title-winning performances with both bat and ball.

Kapp is famously known for her outstanding performance in the inaugural final of the tournament in 2021, where she took a competition-best 4 wickets for just 9 runs and scored a crucial 26 runs with the bat. She dismissed the Southern Brave’s top three batters for ducks, a rare feat that was achieved in a final.

In her T20I career, she has picked 92 wickets from 104 innings, and she has also scored 1641 runs from 98 innings. She has been one of South Africa’s best performers across formats with her consistency in both departments. She brings in plenty of experience to the side as she has been representing her national side since 2009 and has been a fundamental part of their core.

Kapp has been a highly successful and impactful all-rounder across a couple of global franchise leagues, with her excellent all-round contributions in different phases of the innings. In the WPL, she has been a key part of Delhi Capitals, as she was picked up in the inaugural auction and was retained ahead of the 2026 auction.

She has scored 378 runs from 29 matches, and she has also picked up 32 wickets. She has helped the Capitals reach the finals in three consecutive seasons from 2023 to 2025. Kapp was one of the first South Africans to play in the WBBL and has represented several teams, including the Sydney Sixers, Perth Scorchers, Sydney Thunder, and currently the Melbourne Stars.

She was one of the significant reasons for the two title wins for Sydney Sixers, and she also won the title for the Perth Scorchers, earning the Player of the Match in the final. In the inaugural WBBL season, she had the best economy rate in the entire competition.

MI London will be mightily pleased with the signing of Marizanne Kapp, as she brings a lot to the table with her versatility as a player. She adds depth to the batting unit and the bowling unit, providing the captain with flexible options in both innings. If Kapp can maintain her consistency as she did for the Oval Invincibles, we could be looking at a very different but dominant MI London this season.
