The dynamic right-hander has made her way into the 1,000 landmark, an achievement, a reflection of her steady rise and resilience since making her international debut in February 2019. With an average of 33.09 and a strike rate of 76.91 across 33 innings, Harleen has become a reliable middle anchor and a technically sound stroke-maker in India’s ODI lineup.

Harleen Deol’s ODI journey began on 22nd February 2019 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, facing a formidable England bowling attack. Though her debut innings was modest, her composure and technique drew attention from selectors and fans alike. Over the years, she evolved into a dependable batter for India, one capable of stabilising innings and accelerating when needed, a balance that few could maintain in the high demands of 50-over cricket.

Her breakout moment in the format came on 24th December 2024, at Vadodara, where she produced a remarkable 115 off 103 balls against the West Indies. That innings, laced with 16 boundaries, was a complete display of maturity and flair. It not only guided India to a massive 115-run win but also earned her the Player of the Match award. The century remains a defining chapter in her ODI career, demonstrating her ability to control the tempo and lead the batting charge.

Heading into the ongoing 13th edition of the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup, Harleen’s form and confidence have been crucial for India’s campaign. In the tournament opener on 30th September 2025 at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati, she anchored the innings with a composed 48 off 64 balls against Sri Lanka. In the tournament so far, she’s played an anchor’s role but hasn’t managed to convert it into a match-defining knock; she’s got out in the 30s and 40s.

Coming in early after the dismissal of Smriti Mandhana, Harleen stitched a solid 67-run stand for the second wicket with Pratika Rawal (37) and followed it with a steady 39-run partnership with skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, bailing India out of trouble in their campaign opener against Sri Lanka in Guwahati. Her ability to rebuild under pressure once again showcased her maturity and adaptability in the one-day format.

That knock was instrumental in India securing a 59-run victory over Sri Lanka in their opening game, establishing a strong start to their World Cup campaign. With that performance, Harleen reaffirmed her reputation as a player who can absorb pressure and deliver in key fixtures, qualities India will rely on greatly as the team looks ahead. India also went on to defeat Pakistan by 88 runs. Harleen (46) chipped in with a vital contribution with the bat against Pakistan.

She has scored 145 runs at a strike rate of 74.74 and an average of 36.25 in four innings with the bat for her side in the tournament so far.

As India took the field against Australia, led by skipper Alyssa Healy at Visakhapatnam on 12th October 2025, all eyes were on Harleen Deol. A composed innings (38 off 42 balls) propelled her past the 1,000-run milestone, a significant feat that places her among the consistent contributors in Indian women’s ODI history.

For Harleen, this journey has been defined by perseverance, adaptability, and a growing sense of responsibility in the middle order. Her ability to construct partnerships, rotate strike, and maintain composure under high-stakes conditions continues to underline her value to India’s batting core. As she surpasses this milestone, her focus remains aligned with the team’s larger goal: to continue India’s winning momentum in the World Cup campaign.
