G Trisha

The 18-year-old top-order batter, from 7 outings in the 2023 Under-19 World Cup, accumulated 116 runs, including the highest score of 57, striking at 108.41. Trisha has consistently been around the U19 setup and among the runs. In this series opener, Trisha had a quiet start, departing for 13 (13), and should be backed to build on this start, leading the scoring.

Joshitha VJ

The 18-year-old all-rounder in the 2024 Women’s Under-19 T20 Trophy added 144 runs, at an average of 48.00 and a strike rate of 175.60, from 5 outings, while also being among the wickets. Joshitha, though departing cheaply for 4 (6), returned bowling figures of 3/17 (4) in this series opener, she can be counted on to continue in this form, producing the goods.

Ishwari Awasare

The teen all-rounder in the recently concluded Women’s U19 T20 Trophy amassed 327 runs at an average of 46.71 from 8 outings, while also taking 6 wickets in 3 innings, maintaining an economy rate of 3.33. In this series opener, Awasare didn’t bowl, and with the bat, she departed cheaply for 2 (8), but she can be trusted to step up with improved efforts.

Parunika Sisodiya

The 19-year-old left-arm off-spinner had a breakthrough year last domestic season. Notably, from 9 outings in the Under-23 T20 Trophy, she secured 11 wickets at an average of 10.18 and an economy rate of 3.27. Parunika again impressed in this series opener, producing bowling figures of 1/13 (4), and she will be relied upon to carry this momentum into the business end.

Pitch:

The center wicket at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium offers a well-balanced track with a slight advantage for the bowlers over the batters, as reflected in the average score being in the 120s. Batters will need to tackle the challenge of spinners to set a competitive total.
