Sarah Glenn closes in on the top T20I bowler rank in the latest ICC update

The South African women’s team led by skipper Laura Wolvaardt is hosting England for an all-format series from 24th November 2024 to 18th December 2024. The Heather Knight-led side completed a thrashing whitewash in the T20I series. The ODI series will commence on 4th December 2024.

ICC Women’s T20I Batting Rankings

The West Indian skipper Hayley Matthews has inched closer to the top spot as she climbs up one spot to the 3rd position (740 points). The Indian vice-captain Smriti Mandhana has also climbed up one spot to equal the 4th position (736 points) alongside the South African skipper Laura Wolvaardt. Suzie Bates from New Zealand, the Australian skipper Alyssa Healy, and the Sri Lankan skipper Chamari Athapaththu have climbed up one spot each to the 6th (680 points), 7th (678 points), and 8th position (670 points) respectively.

Nat Sciver-Brunt from England was the 2nd highest run-scorer of the recently concluded T20I series against South Africa with 126 runs in a couple of innings with the bat, including back-to-back half-centuries (59 off 54 balls, and 67* off 43 balls). As a result of her impressive performances, she has climbed up a couple of spots to the 12th position (639 points). The veteran opening batter Danielle Wyatt-Hodge was the leading run-scorer of the T20I series with 142 runs including a couple of half-centuries. As a result, she has also climbed up three spots to the 14th position (628 points).

Maia Bouchier was the 3rd highest run-scorer for England with 64 runs in three innings in the recently concluded T20I series. She has climbed up one spot to the 25th position (554 points). The 24-year-old young South African all-rounder Nadine de Klerk was the highest run-scorer for the home side and the 3rd highest run-scorer of the T20I series with 80 runs at an impressive strike rate of 135.59 in three innings with the bat for her side. As a result of her impressive performances, she has earned a significant rise as she has climbed up five spots to the 52nd position (439 points). The young 23-year-old South African all-rounder Annerie Dercksen was one of the stand-out performers with the bat and was also the 2nd highest run-scorer for South Africa and the 4th highest run-scorer of the series, with 69 runs in three innings with the bat. As a result of her impressive performances, she has earned a massive rise as she has climbed up 11 spots to the 91st position (309 points).

ICC Women’s T20I Bowling Rankings

The young 25-year-old leg-spinner from England, Sarah Glenn was the 2nd highest wicket-taker of the T20I series against South Africa, with five wickets to her name in a couple of innings with the ball for her side. As a result of her impressive performances, she has inched closer to the top spot by climbing up three spots to equal the 2nd position (745 points) alongside Sadia Iqbal from Pakistan. Off-spinner Charlie Dean was the leading wicket-taker of the T20I series against South Africa with 6 wickets in three innings with the ball for her side. As a result of her impressive performances, she has earned a significant rise as she climbs up six spots to equal the 9th position (703 points) alongside Nashra Sundhu from Pakistan.

England pacer Lauren Bell picked up a couple of wickets in a couple of innings with the ball for her side in the recently concluded T20I series. As a result, she has also earned a significant rise as she climbed up five spots to the 15th position (670 points). Lauren Filer was impressive with the ball for England in the T20I series as she picked up one wicket in a couple of innings. She has earned a humongous rise as she has climbed up 44 spots to equal the 79th position (373 points) alongside Scotland’s Olivia Bell. The 19-year-old young all-rounder from England, Freya Kemp picked up a couple of wickets in three innings with the ball for her side. The 24-year-old young all-rounder from South Africa was the stand-out performer for her side in the T20I series against England. She was the highest wicket-taker for her side and the 3rd highest wicket-taker of the series with 4 wickets in three innings in the series. Apart from her contributions with the ball, she also excelled with the bat as she was also the highest run-scorer for her side and the 3rd highest run-scorer of the series with 80 runs in three innings with the bat in the series. As a result of her impressive performances, she climbed up one spot to the 10th position (237 points). Charlie Dean from England has also climbed up one spot to the 18th position (174 points).

Marufa Akter from Bangladesh has climbed up a couple of spots to the 72nd position (68 points). The veteran opening batter from England, Danielle Wyatt-Hodge has also climbed up four spots to equal the 84th position (55 points) alongside Anneke Bosch and Annerie Dercksen from South Africa who has earned a massive rise as she has climbed up 11 spots. Freya Kemp from England also earned a massive rise as she climbs up 14 spots to equal the 96th position (49 points) alongside Hong Kong’s Mariko Hill, Sanjida Akter Meghla from Bangladesh, Darcie Brown from Australia, and Darcey Carter from Scotland.
