The Scorchers winning the toss, opted to bat first, and their openers wicket-keeper batter Beth Mooney and skipper Sophie Devine got the side off to a solid start with a 43-run opening partnership, scoring at a rate of over 8 runs an over.
Alice Capsey picked up the wicket of Mooney to provide the first breakthrough for the Melbourne Renegades. Melbourne Renegades comfortably got over the line with 6 wickets and 14 balls to spare.
