Tammy Beaumont breaks several records with her unbeaten 150 against Ireland

English batter Tammy Beaumont has added another accolade to her illustrious career, becoming the fastest English player to reach 4,000 ODI runs. She achieved this milestone after scoring an unbeaten 150 off 139 balls in the second ODI against Ireland.

Before the start of the match, Beaumont was just 108 runs shy of reaching the 4,000-run mark. In her 110th ODI innings, she not only reached that milestone but also became the fourth English batter overall to do so in the format.

This innings marked her tenth ODI century, the most by any English batter to date.

Opening the batting for England, Beaumont played a composed knock, starting cautiously before accelerating later. She reached her hundred off 117 balls and finished with an unbeaten 150 off 139 balls, hitting 16 boundaries and a six at an impressive strike rate of 107.91.

She also became the only English batter to score more than 150 on two occasions.

Tammy Beaumont made her ODI debut at the age of 18 in 2009 against the West Indies, where she batted at number 10 and scored an unbeaten 14 off 27 balls. Her first ODI fifty came in 2016, when she scored 70 off 75 balls opening the innings against Pakistan. In her next innings, she scored her maiden ODI century with 104 off 116 balls, followed by a record-breaking unbeaten 168 off 148 balls—her highest ODI score to date.

At the 2017 Women’s Cricket World Cup, Beaumont and Sarah Taylor set the highest partnership for any wicket in Women’s World Cup history, scoring 275 runs against South Africa. In the same tournament, she and Nat Sciver established a then-record 4th wicket partnership (170 runs). Beaumont was the leading run-scorer of the tournament with 410 runs and was named Player of the Tournament, playing a crucial role in England’s 2017 World Cup victory. In the 2022 Women’s ODI World Cup, she crossed 3,000 ODI runs, becoming the fastest English batter to reach that landmark.

Tammy Beaumont continues to be an integral part of England’s batting lineup, with over 4,000 runs in the ODI format across 120 matches, scoring 20 fifties and 10 centuries to date.
