Kathryn Bryce to lead as Scotland announces their first-ever ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Squad

The Scotland women’s team led by skipper Kathryn Bryce had a sensational campaign in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifiers in April-May, earlier this year. They finished 2nd on the points table with six points from four games. They ended the tournament as the runners-up to Sri Lanka in the final.

As a result of being the finalists, they booked their spot for their maiden appearance in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, marking a historic occasion for Scotland cricket. They have finally announced their squad for the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. Skipper Kathryn Bryce will lead the historic Scotland squad in their maiden ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

The majority of the players from the squad have displayed impressive performances and showed encouraging signs of good form in the recently concluded Tri-series including the Netherlands and Papua New Guinea. Darcey Carter, Saskia Horley, Abtaha Maqsood, and the Bryce sisters are some of the players to watch out for from Scotland. Darcey Carter was the leading run-scorer of the recently concluded T20I leg of the tri-series with 84 runs in a couple of innings with the bat. Chloe Abel was the leading wicket-taker of the T20I format of the tri-series with five wickets to her name in a couple of innings with the ball.

The upcoming edition is the 9th for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup which was earlier set to be hosted by Bangladesh however, it is now set to be hosted by the United Arab Emirates. The tournament will commence on 3rd October 2024 and conclude on 20th October 2024.

Kathryn Bryce-led side will kickstart their campaign in the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in a tournament opener against Bangladesh on 3rd October 2024 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium from 3:30 PM IST.
