Maddy Darke’s unbeaten century triumphs over twin half-centuries from Tejal Hasabnis and Raghvi Bist as Australia A clinch the One Day series.

The visitors, India A led by skipper Minnu Mani yet again ended up on the losing side as they lost the first One Day match of the three-match series by four wickets at Mackay. However, there was a much better display of intent and resilience from the Minnu Mani-led side.

The Australia A skipper Tahlia McGrath won the toss and opted to field first at the Great Barrier Reef Arena, Mackay in the 2nd One Day. After being inserted to bat first, India A got off to a poor start as they lost the wicket of their opening batter Priya Punia in the 3rd over of the innings. Tayla Vlaeminck provided the first breakthrough for Australia A.

Shubha Satheesh joined Shweta Sehrawat at the crease and the duo stitched a much-needed 21-run partnership for the 2nd wicket. Nicola Hancock picked up the wicket of Shweta Sehrawat to provide the 2nd breakthrough for her side. Tejal Hasabnis joined Shubha Satheesh at the crease and the duo stitched another crucial 26-run partnership for the 3rd wicket to take their side past the 50-run mark.

Charli Knott picked up the wicket of Shubha Satheesh to provide the 3rd breakthrough for Australia A. Raghvi Bist joined Tejal Hasabnis at the crease and the duo stitched a massive 124-run partnership for the 4th wicket to take their side close to the 200-run mark. Grace Parsons picked up the wicket of Tejal Hasabnis to provide the much-needed 4th breakthrough for her side. She departed for a well-made half-century. It was her 2nd consecutive half-century.

Skipper Minnu Mani soon followed her back to the pavilion to provide the 5th breakthrough for Australia A. Wicket-keeper batter Shipra Giri joined Raghvi Bist at the crease and the duo stitched a crucial 20-run partnership for the 6th wicket to take their side past the 200-run mark. She was found short of her crease to provide the 6th breakthrough for Australia A. She also departed for a well-made half-century. It was also her 2nd consecutive half-century.

India A were eventually bundled out for 218 with 12 balls to spare. Raghvi Bist (70 off 93 balls), Tejal Hasabnis (63 off 86 balls), Shubha Satheesh (24 off 38 balls), and wicket-keeper batter Shipra Giri (17 off 20 balls) were the top performers with the bat for India A. Maitlan Brown (9-1-36-2), Nicola Hancock (7-1-27-2), Charli Knott (10-0-49-2), Tayla Vlaeminck (6-3-12-1), and Grace Parsons (8-0-47-1) were the top performers with the ball for Australia A.

Chasing a target of 219, the Australia A openers Maddy Darke and Katie Mack got their side off to a solid start with a massive 131-run opening partnership. Sayali Satghare picked up the wicket of Katie Mack to provide the first breakthrough for India A. She departed for a well-made half-century. Charli Knott joined Maddy Darke at the crease and the duo stitched another crucial 38-run partnership for the 2nd wicket to take their side past the 150-run mark.

Tanuja Kanwer picked up the wicket of Charli Knott to provide the 2nd breakthrough for her side. Skipper Tahlia McGrath joined Maddy Darke at the crease and the duo took their side over the line with a 52-run partnership for the 3rd wicket. Maddy Darke (106 off 115 balls), Katie Mack (68 off 78 balls), and skipper Tahlia McGrath (32 off 26 balls) were the top performers with the bat. Sayali Satghare (9-0-41-1), Tanuja Kanwer (9-0-43-1), and Shabnam Shakil (6.2-0-38-0) were the top performers with the ball for India A.

Australia A clinched the three-match One Day series with a comprehensive eight-wicket victory and 58 balls to spare in the 2nd One Day.
