India ‘A’ team is touring Australia for a multi-format series against Australia ‘A’, which commenced on 7th August. The series kicked off with three T20s, that the hosts swept 3-0, followed by three One-Dayers, and will conclude with an unofficial Test on 22nd August. Australia A took a 1-0 lead in the three-match One-day series. The hosts elected to field first and restricted India A to a decent total of 249. Australia A chased down the target of 250 with 18 balls to spare, winning the match by 4 wickets.

1) Katie Mack 129 (Australia A)

Katie Mack’s brilliant century ensured that the hosts chased down the target of 250 with ease, without encountering any hurdles. The Australian opener smashed 129 off 126 balls, building on her ordinary outings in the T20 series. She was involved in three partnerships of over 50 runs, with the most crucial being a 122-run stand for the third wicket with skipper Tahlia McGrath.

2) Maitlan Brown 4/23 (Australia A)

Maitlan Brown was Australia’s top bowler in the first One-Dayer against India A. The Australian pacer claimed four wickets, starting with Raghvi Bist, India’s top scorer with 82 runs. Brown dominated the backend of the innings, producing three crucial breakthroughs. She finished with impressive figures of 4 for 23 (6) at an economy rate of 3.83.

3) Raghvi Bist 82 (India A)

The young Indian batter played a composed innings against the hosts in the 1st One Dayer. Raghvi Bist came in when India A lost their third wicket with the score at 56. She played a rescue act, first putting together a 55-run stand for the fourth wicket alongside Tejal Hasabinis, followed by a 52-run partnership with skipper Minnu Mani. Raghvi Bist scored 82 off 102 balls, which included six boundaries, helping the visitors post a competitive total of 249.

4) Tahlia McGrath 1/31 & 56 (Australia A)

Tahlia McGrath continued her dream form with yet another all-round performance. Initially, with the ball, she took the wicket of Shubha Satheesh, finishing with figures of 1/31 in eight overs, including a maiden. With the bat, the Australian skipper scored 56 off 61 balls, marking her second consecutive fifty in the ongoing series. Her fifty helped the hosts comfortably chase down the target of 250.
