Birmingham Phoenix led by skipper Ellyse Perry defeated Southern Brave led by skipper Georgia Adams by 16 runs at the Edgbaston, Birmingham in the 13th match of the season. Trent Rockets led by skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt was all set to face Welsh Fire led by skipper Tammy Beaumont at Trent Bridge, Nottingham in the 14th match of the season.

Trent Rockets skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt won the toss and opted to bat first. Trent Rockets got off to a poor start as they lost both their openers Bryony Smith and Grace Scrivens in the first seven balls of the innings. Skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt joined wicket-keeper batter Natasha Wraith at the crease and the duo stitched a much-needed 52-run partnership for the 3rd wicket to lead some sort of recovery for their side.

Georgia Davis picked up the wicket of the wicket-keeper batter Natasha Wraith to provide the 3rd breakthrough for Welsh Fire. Ashleigh Gardner joined skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt at the crease and the duo stitched a 17-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Jess Jonassen picked up the wicket of the opposition skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt to provide the 4th breakthrough for her side.

Heather Graham joined Ashleigh Gardner at the crease and the duo stitched a crucial 49-run partnership for the 5th wicket to take their side past the 120-run mark. Jess Jonassen came back and picked up the wicket of Ashleigh Gardner to provide the 5th breakthrough for Welsh Fire. Trent Rockets eventually ended up with a total of 130/5 in their quota of 100 deliveries.

As a result, Welsh Fire sealed the game with six wickets in hand and two balls to spare.

She played a crucial role as Welsh Fire sealed a comprehensive, table-topping six wicket victory against the Trent Rockets.
