Amy Jones surpasses Sarah Taylor for most dismissals for England in the T20I format in her landmark game.

The England women’s team led by skipper Heather Knight for a three-match T20I series followed by a three-match ODI series. The bilateral series will conclude on 29th May 2024. The home side eventually managed to win the 1st T20I comfortably by a 53-run margin.

Chasing a 164-run target, the visitors were off to a promising start, scoring at almost 10 runs an over in the powerplay. Lauren Bell into her 2nd over of her spell, provided the 2nd breakthrough for England. The ball jagged back sharply from a shortish length outside off, found the inside edge and the keeper leaped to her left and backed her reflexes and snapped a stunning one handed low catch to dismiss Gull Feroza.

Amy Jones also became the wicket-keeper with most dismissals for England (75) in the T20I format, surpassing Sarah Taylor (74).

She also became the first wicket-keeper to score 30+ runs and take four catches in the same T20I.

It was also her landmark 100th T20I to make the occasion even more special. The 2nd T20I will take place at the County Ground, Northampton on 17th May (Friday) from 11 PM IST.
