Fans troll RCB after they lose 2nd Consecutive Match in WPL 2024

In a thriller encounter between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians in WPL 2024, the latter led by stand-in skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt, won the toss and opted to field, as regular skipper Harmanpreet Kaur and Shabnim Ismail missed out due to niggle.

The Royals, batting first, struggled to build momentum, losing key wickets of openers Smriti Mandhana and Sophie Devine. Ellyse Perry’s unbeaten 44, and Georgia Wareham’s cameo of 27 runs helped Banglore reach 131 runs for 6 wickets. Mumbai’s bowling, led by Nat Sciver-Brunt claiming 2/27 and Pooja Vastrakar 2/14 figures, restricted the Royals to a modest score.

In the second innings, Mumbai’s openers started strong with Yastika Bhatia, but Sophie Devine’s breakthrough slowed their pace. Nat Sciver-Brunt’s 27 runs, Hayley Matthews’s 26 runs, and Amelia Kerr’s unbeaten 40 runs guided Mumbai to victory with seven wickets and 29 balls to spare. Bangalore’s bowling, led by Shreyanka Patil (1/15) and Sophie Devine (1/16), couldn’t restrain Mumbai’s batting. Amelia Kerr was awarded Player of the Match as Mumbai Indians claimed the top spot in the points table with their convincing win.
