The 2nd edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) is here and Bollywood celebrities, including Tiger Shroff, Sidharth Malhotra, Kartik Aaryan, Varun Dhawan, Shahid Kapoor, and Shah Rukh Khan aka SRK, graced the opening ceremony at Banglore’s Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The WPL 2024 advertising campaign, “Ye Kingdom nahi, Ab Queendom hai” celebrates and showcases the skill and promise inherent in women’s cricket.

Among all the stars, the king of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, met the players of Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians on Thursday after his rehearsal for the opening ceremony. This small meet and greet boosted the morale of the players. The heartwarming gesture of King Khan has rapidly spread across the internet.

SRK could be seen interacting with players from both teams, giving them warm hugs and sharing smiles. The Mumbai Indian’s skipper Harmanpreet Kaur shared a lighthearted moment with him, exchanging laughter and building enduring bonds, it was a jab ‘Harry met Harry’ moment with him.

Shah Rukh taught last year’s hat-trick taker Izzy Wong of Mumbai Indians, his iconic dialogue “Bade bade shehron mein aisi choti choti baatein hoti rehti hain”.

As for the Delhi Capitals’ part of the interaction, King Khan taught his iconic signature pose to the former Australian captain and Delhi Capital’s captain, Meg Lanning, which she replicated brilliantly to the applause of everyone there.

Many players captured the moment with the megastar by clicking pictures. Delhi’s vice-captain Jemimah Rodrigues captured a group selfie with him, her teammates, and a few staff members. She captioned the photograph with his iconic ‘Chak De India’s movie reference’ – “Coach Kabir Khan came and gave us his blessing before the start of the TATA WPL.”

In the end, SRK offered a warm hug to former Indian skipper and ex-president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Sourav Ganguly, who is presently the director of Delhi Capitals.
