Bio:

Kate Cross is renowned for her versatile skills as a bowler and a handy tailender, she has left a significant mark in the cricketing world.

Cross’ cricketing journey began at Lancashire’s Cricket Academy in 2006 where she became the first woman to join. Her talent soon earned recognition winning her the Eversheds Most Promising Young Cricketer award in 2007. She debuted for England’s Under-21 side in 2007 and subsequently progressed to the senior team.

In October 2013, she made her ODI debut against West Indies. She dismissed the West Indies top order, taking 4 wickets for 51 runs and winning Player of the Match for the same spell. In her ODI career, she has excelled with a total of 79 wickets in 58 innings, including three 4-fers and two 5-fers, showcasing her ability to make significant contributions with the ball.

She made her Test debut, at Perth in early 2014, Cross finished with figures of 6 wickets for 70 runs in the match. She has a total of 25 wickets in 16 test innings.

Notable highlights of Cross’ career include her selection for various prestigious tournaments like the Women’s Ashes tour of Australia and the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. Overall, in WT20Is, she has played 16 matches, taking 11 wickets at an economy of 7.22. Her outstanding performance in various matches has earned her widespread acclaim. Adding to this, in 2023 she was bought by the Royal Challengers Bangalore Women in the WPL Auction.
