Players to watch

Georgia Redmayne: 

The left-handed opening batter and wicket-keeper of Brisbane Heat won the player of the match award in her last outing against Melbourne Renegades. She muscled an unbeaten 98 off 67. Her innings was studded with a dozen boundaries. In the process, she stitched a 165-run partnership with her opening partner Grace Harris, the highest partnership in Brisbane Heat history.

Amelia Kerr: 

The talented all-rounder from New Zealand was the pick of the bowlers for Brisbane Heat in her last appearance against Melbourne Renegades. The right-arm leg-spinner claimed 27/2 in four overs and bowled well in the middle phase of the innings. Apart from her bowling, she is an effective right-handed batter and can bat in the top or middle order.

Hayley Matthews: 

The right-handed opening batter of Melbourne Renegades played a 19-ball cameo against Brisbane Heat in her last game. She hammered 35, including six hits to the fence. She provided a brisk start to the run chase. She also opened the bowling with Shabnim Ismail and bowled her total quota of four overs. She is a right-arm off-spinner.

Shabnim Ismail: 

The right-arm pace sensation of South Africa was the lone wicket-taker for Melbourne Renegades in her last fixture against Brisbane Heat. She opened the bowling and bowled well with the new ball. She struck with 31/1 in four overs, including one maiden. She was also the most economical bowler for her side.

Pitch

It will be the tournament’s first match at the venue. Expect a new and hard surface. Plenty of runs could be on offer due to batting-friendly conditions, including a quick outfield. Being a day game, the fast bowlers may get assistance with the new ball in the first innings.
