Players to watch

Diana Baig: 

The right-arm speedster of Pakistan was one of the most successful bowlers for her team in her last fixture against Bangladesh. She opened the bowling and bowled well with the new ball. She accounted for 11/2 in three overs, striking in her first over. She exhibited good control over her lines and lengths. 

Sidra Ameen:

The right-handed opening batter of Pakistan led the run chase from the front as she mustered an undefeated 36 off 35, including four boundaries in her last game against Bangladesh. She stitched a crucial 49-run partnership with her opening partner Muneeba Ali to set the tone for the run chase.

Thipatcha Putthawong: 

Thailand’s left-arm spinner was the bowlers’ pick in her last appearance against Sri Lanka. She scalped 26/2 in her full quota of four overs, picking up both the wickets in the final over of the innings. She came into bowl as the first change and was effective in the death overs.

Chanida Sutthiruang:

The talented all-rounder from Thailand was the top scorer with the bat, scoring an unbeaten 37 off 42, including three boundaries. She came in to bat in the seventh over and took the onus of her team’s batting. She played some stunning shots and ran well between the wickets. She also opened the bowling with Nattaya Boochatham and bowled three overs, conceding 27 runs.

Pitch

This will be the 10th match of the tournament at the venue. The teams batting first have won six games, while the teams batting second have won four. The last match saw close to 180 runs being scored. Only seven wickets fell in the process. The pitch is expected to be on the slower side. Expect the spinners to yield rich dividends from the wicket.
