Thai all-rounder, Rosenan Kanoh after having just played a handful of games for her national side now finds herself suspended from bowling in international cricket with immediate effect as the International Cricket Council’s (ICC’s) expert panel confirmed that the off-spinner uses an illegal bowling action.
The 23-year-old, in international cricket, has only been capped 8 times; in her 5 innings with the bat, she’s got to 19 runs with the highest being an 8 and with a ball in hand, she’s struck a couple of wickets in 7 innings at an economy rate of 4.54 and the best figures she’s got to is 1/13.
Rosenan Kanoh debuted for Thailand in 2019 and on her most recent tour, during the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), following the side’s games against Bangladesh, she was reported by the match officials on the 23rd of September.

The ICC media release further read, “The Expert Panel reviewed match footage of Kanoh’s bowling action and concluded that she employs an illegal bowling action and as such, in accordance with Article 6.5 of the regulations, she is suspended from bowling in international cricket.”
Article 6.5 states, “Where the Expert Panel Report concludes that the Player uses an Illegal Bowling Action, the Player shall be immediately suspended from bowling in International Cricket.”
Rosenan Kanoh’s suspension will remain in place until she undergoes a re-assessment of her bowling action and will return to bowling in international cricket only after her assessment concludes that her bowling action is legal.

In the Semi-Final, Thailand lost their contest to Bangladesh who eventually finished as the champions. Thailand next plays a few giant teams in Pakistan, Sri Lanka and India in their upcoming Asia Cup campaign.
