England batting first had openers Tammy Beaumont and Danni Wyatt score 29(27) and 24(22) respectively. The middle order couldn’t really get going but thankfully England had Amy Jones score 26(21), Sophie Ecclestone and Anya Shrubsole’s 14 and 10 down the order which got England to post 119 on board. India had skipper Smriti Mandhana top score with 58(39) and Mithali Raj got to 30(32). Among the rest, Jemimah top scored with 11(22) and England defended with a run.
22-Mar-2016, Dharamsala
During the Women’s World Cup came this brilliant contest between the two that again had England win holding their nerves. India batting first had Harmanpreet Kaur top score with 26(25), Mithali Raj and Anuja Patil lower down the order contribute with scores of 20(33) and 13(13) which got India to end their innings with 90 on board. England in reply had Tammy Beaumont top score with 20 and the next best scores from Nat Sciver and Sarah Taylor of 19 and 16. England were 8 down, but Anya Shrubsole hung in alongside Katherine Brunt to get the final few runs and England with a couple of wickets and an over in hand won the contest.

India had Mithali Raj top score with 30(26) and Priyanka Roy and Sulakshana Naik with the next best score of 21(19) and 21(19). India thankfully had lower middle order runs from Amita Sharma 16(14) which helped India post a total of 125 for the loss of 5 wickets. England in reply had Jenny Gann and Charlotte Edwards top score with 34(24), 28(32) and Beth Morgan and Lydia Greenway with identical scores of 16. Danielle Hazell lower down the order scored 14(16) which pushed the side to close out the target. Nicky Shaw closed out the show with a couple of runs off the last ball to win the contest for her side with 5 wickets in hand.
11-Jul-2021, Hove
India batting first had Smriti Mandhana depart early for 20, but Harmanpreet Kaur and Shafali Verma put on a show before being dismissed on scores of 48(38) and 31(25). Deepti Sharma’s 24(27) helped India post 148 on board. England in reply had Tammy Beaumont go big with a knock of 59(50) and Heather Knight with the next best score of 30(28). The next best was 11 off Amy Jones’ bat and England failed to close out the game as single digits score denied England from getting to the required closing out on 140.
06-Aug-2022, Birmingham
India’s most recent contest against England was an absolute entertaining one which saw Smriti Mandhana top score for India with a firing 32-ball-61 and then came Jemimah Rodrigues mature knock of 44(31) which powered India to post a total of 164/5. England in reply had starts from Sophia Dunkley and Alice Capsey and had opener Danni Wyatt, Nat Sciver and Amy Jones with best scores of 35(27), 41(43) and 31(24) contribute to England’s scoring, but the timely wickets of set batters put India in the lead by 4 runs to win the game handing England a shock.
