The third and the final ODI of the three-match ODI series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be played on June 5 at the Southend Club Cricket Stadium in Karachi.

Pakistan have taken an unassailable lead of 2-0 after beating Sri Lanka by 73 runs in the second ODI on June 3. Batting first, Pakistan posted a competitive score of 2-253 in 50 overs, thanks to Sidra Ameen’s 123 and Muneeba Ali’s 56. In reply, Sri Lanka were reduced to 9-180 in 50 overs as Fatima Sana wreaked havoc with the ball claiming 4-26 in 10 overs. Harshitha Madavi top scored for the visitors with 41 runs off 48 balls. With the ball, Oshadi Ranasinghe and Kavisha Dilhari were the only wicket-takers for Sri Lanka.

Players to watch

Sidra Ameen:

The right-handed opening batter of Pakistan won the player of the match in her last outing against Sri Lanka. She scored 123 runs off 150 balls to help Pakistan post a competitive score of 253 runs in 50 overs. In the process, she stitched a 158-run partnership with her opening partner Muneeba Ali to lay the foundation.

Fatima Sana:

The right-arm speedster from Pakistan was the wrecker-in-chief in her last match against Sri Lanka. Opening the bowling with Diana Baig, Sana scalped 4-26 in 10 overs, including three maidens. She was the most successful and most economical bowler for Pakistan.

Kavisha Dilhari:

The right-handed middle-order batter of Sri Lanka scored 32 runs off 35 balls in her last appearance against Pakistan. Early in the day, she picked up 1-43 in 10 overs, including two maidens. The off-spinner came in to bowl as the first change and was the most economical bowler for Sri Lanka.

Harshitha Madavi:

The left-handed middle-order batter of Sri Lanka led the run chase from the front with a 48-ball 41. She ran well between the wickets, which was evident from the fact that she hit just the one boundary in her innings. She came in to bat in the 24th over and was there fighting till the 41st over.

Pitch

In the last match that was played here, more than 425 runs were scored and a total of 11 wickets fell. The wicket is expected to be a batting-friendly one. However, being the last match of the tournament at the same venue, the pitch could have undergone a lot of wear and tear, which could assist the spinners.
