UAE to host Hong Kong Women’s Team for 4 T20Is in Ajman

Emirates Cricket Board (ECB), Cricket Hong Kong (CHK) and Pacific Star Sports have announced that a T20I bilateral series will be played between UAE and Hong Kong from April 27 to April 30 at the Malek Ground in Ajman in the UAE.

A total of 4 matches will be played across 4 days. The first three matches will start at 7 pm local time and the fourth and final match will start at 9 am local time. SkyExchange.net has agreed to be the title sponsor for the event while broadcasting will be taken care of by Fancode. Fans in India can catch the live action on Fancode as well as on CricTracker Facebook page and YouTube channel.

Fans in Pakistan can catch the live action on Geo Super, while the fans in USA and Canada can catch the live action on Willow TV in USA and Canada. It is known that in the coming days, Sportseye will be confirmed as a broadcasting partner.

Overall Performance – UAE vs Hong Kong in T20Is

UAE and Hong Kong have played two T20Is against each other, with UAE winning both the matches. Overall, Hong Kong have played 20 T20Is, out of which they have won 11 and lost nine. On the other hand, UAE have played 26 T20Is, out of which they have won 18 and lost eight.

Performance in the last 5 T20Is

UAE have won all their last five T20Is. They played against Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain in March 2022 during the GCC Women’s T20 Championship Cup. UAE went on to win the championship.

Hong Kong, on the other hand, played their last five matches in November 2021 during the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Asia Region Qualifiers. They won four out of the five matches. They played against Nepal, UAE, Malaysia, Bhutan and Kuwait. They lost to UAE and won their remaining four matches.

Players to watch out for

Kary Chan:

The captain of Hong Kong is the leading run-getter for her team in T20Is. The left-handed batter has 317 runs in 18 innings to her name, including the best of 43. She is a genuine all-rounder, who has 30 wickets in 20 innings, including one five-wicket haul. She bowls left-arm wrist spin.

Mariko Hill:

She is a right-handed batter and a right-arm seamer. Hill is the only player from Hong Kong to have a half-century in women’s T20Is. She has 296 runs in 19 innings at a strike rate of more than 90. With the ball, she has seven wickets to her name.

Esha Oza:

She is a prolific right-handed batter from UAE. She is the only player in the team to score a century in T20Is. She also has three half-centuries to her name. She has scored 716 runs in 24 innings at a strike rate of close to 125. She can also roll her arm over to bowl off spin. She has picked up 18 wickets in 16 innings.

Khushi Sharma:

She is a right arm speedster who has the uncanny ability to pick up crucial wickets. In the current UAE team, she is the only player to have a four wicket haul and five wicket haul in T20Is. In seven innings, she has accounted for 16 wickets, including the best of 5-22.
