Players to watch out for

Katie Mack:

The right-hand opening bat of Adelaide Strikers has been in red form in this season of WBBL. She has muscled 426 runs in 12 innings and is the fourth highest run-getter in the competition. She is the leading run-scorer for Adelaide Strikers. In her last outing against Melbourne Stars, she scored her fourth half-century of the tournament as she plundered 89 not out off 67 balls, including 13 boundaries. She guided her team to a daunting total of 175, scoring more than half of the team’s total.

Madeline Penna:

The right-hand middle-order bat was a half centurion in her last match against Melbourne Stars. She joined forces with Mack to stitch a 118-run partnership for the fourth wicket. She hammered 56 not out off 34 balls, including seven boundaries and two sixes. Adelaide Strikers will want Penna to shoulder the responsibility of the middle-order batting going into the Eliminator match.

Georgia Redmayne:

The wicket-keeper and opening bat of Brisbane Heat was the player of the match in her last fixture against Melbourne Renegades. She smashed 71 runs off 51 balls, including eight boundaries and a six. She is the third-highest run-getter in the tournament with 436 runs in 13 innings, including five half-centuries, which is the highest in the competition so far.

Jess Jonassen:

The skipper of Brisbane Heat was the most successful bowler for the team in their last match against Melbourne Renegades. The left arm spinner scalped 3-10 in her 3.1 overs and was also the most economical bowler for the side. She is the leading wicket-taker in this season of WBBL with 21 wickets in 13 matches. Brisbane Heat would want their captain to spin the web and entangle the opposition batters.

Weather

The weather is expected to be cloudy and the average temperature will be around 18 degrees Celsius. There is a 16% chance of precipitation during the course of the match. Wind will blow from the south-southeast.

Pitch

Out of the six matches played at the venue, teams batting second have won all. It is likely that the captain who wins the toss is likely to have a bowl first. The average first innings score has been 126 runs and the average second innings score has been 128 runs. In the last match that was played here, more than 350 runs were scored and only four wickets fell, all of which were picked by the quick bowlers. It is likely that the match will be a high-scoring encounter given the batting prowess of each of the sides. Bowlers will have to fight hard to tame the batters.
