Women’s Cricket has been one of the exciting avenues in cricketing streets in recent times. While a lot is achieved, there is a lot to be conquered. We, at Female Cricket, have always emphasized that the game reaches new streets where it gets new stars.
It is heartening to report that Hong Kong is about to initiate its cricket tournament for women. Cricket Hong Kong had recently announced a tournament for its women cricketers. Women’s Premier League is one of its kind in Hong Kong. The recent addition to domestic women’s cricket will see International stars from the Hong Kong side and former veterans as well.
The list of participants has been shared recently by Cricket Hong Kong. It is interesting to note that against the conventional norm, the tournament will not be of the shortest format but teams have forty overs available to each side.

However, it is interesting to note that while teams will play three games against each other, one of those three games would see 35 overs in one innings while the rest will have 40 overs for each innings. There are two teams for the tournament namely Bauhinia Stars and Jade Jets.
While Bauhinia Stars will rely on their skipper who leads Hong Kong International side as well, Jets will bank on Pull-To and Jasmine Titmuss. Titmuss has been associated with the English Cricket Board’s women’s development squad. Further, she is an international player for Hong Kong now. It is exciting to learn that players from other smaller cricket-loving countries will also be taking part. The SSC Divas has been a common name in Domestic settings of Hong Kong cricket.
The team comprises of domestic helpers who have migrated from the Philippines. Allumbro is from the Divas and fans are eager to see her play for the Bauhinia Stars. They (Stars) will be coached by Ghulam Saqlain while the Jets will have Niaz Ali in the role of coach. Hong Kong has been of the emerging centers of cricket in men’s and women’s cricket. Consecutive tournaments and increased resources can see the rise of the side on global cricket ranks. With the rise of teams like Hong Kong, Cricket wins and the joys are widespread among fans throughout the globe.
