1st Innings Summary – Adelaide Strikers’ captain and opener, Suzie Bates batted like a sole warrior while the rest of the team surrendered to the superb bowling attack of Sydney Thunder. Pressure kept on building with every falling wicket as nine out of eleven batters could not cross even 10-run mark. Rene Farrell, Stafenie Taylor and Maisy Gibson took three wickets each to rip apart the batting line-up of the Adelaide Strikers. Thanks to the 60 ball 79-run innings of Bates that the team could post a less competitive yet respectable total.
2nd Innings Summary – Stafenie Taylor suffered an unfortunate run out on the first ball of the second over but wicketkeeper opener Rachel Priest batted brilliantly hitting seven 4s and two 6s in her 58-run unbeaten innings. Last match’s Player of the Match, Indian batter Harmanpreet Kaur played her natural game and played aggressively two 4s and three 6s. Middle order batter Nicole Carey hit the winning four to seal a comfortable win for her team.
Player of the match – Suzie Bates for her brave innings of 79 runs which saved her team from suffering a complete batting debacle.
